Mt. Calvary M.B. Church men’s Day Celebration

Please come out and help us celebrate our Annual

Men’s Day Program on March 24, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.

We will begin our celebration on Saturday, March 23,

which includes a Men’s Day Breakfast that begins at 8:00 a.m. Our Men’s

Day speaker for Sunday will be Pastor Roosevelt Rodgers. Pastor of Old Jerusalem M. B. Church of Havana, FL. We are

looking forward to worshipping with you.

We will also continue to conduct Bible Study, Sunday School and meetings via the conference line. We will also continue to host the morning message via the conference line, Facebook live and the website. Additionally, there are 3 ways that you can continue to give:

a.) Drop you gifts by the church (310 4 th Avenue, SW Cairo) on Sunday from 10:15 - 12:15 (Trustees will be available to receive your gifts);

b.) Via mobile giving through the Givelify App.(Mt. Calvary of Cairo, Ga).;

c.) or by mail Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Post Office Box 253, Cairo, GA 39828.

COMMUNICATION

The Lord's Supper will take place on Sunday, March 3 after the morning's message. 

Pastor Mack will be the guest minister for revival at the Pine Hill M. B. Church of Bainbridge, GA on Friday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m.

Please provide your address and updated contact information to our Church Clerk – Sister Evelyn Spradley.  This includes mailing address, email address, telephone numbers including cell.  This will assist us with our communication efforts here at the church.  Please note on your contact information if you prefer not to receive text messages.

Save the date – Our Pastor’s Anniversary Celebration held on Sunday, April 7 at 10:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Pastor Carlton D. Flowers will be the 10:15 a.m. guest minister and Pastor William Brinson and the Willow Head M. B. Church of Thomasville, GA will be in charge of the 2:30 p.m. service.  More detail to come. 


PRAYER HUB


The Prayer Hub is a weekly prayer line where each church will take a day and all other churches will be able to dial in and participate in the time of prayer. The prayer line with be available Monday through Friday from 6:00 - 6:30 a.m. The prayer leader will set the agenda and decide on the purpose of the prayer time. The leader may announce different topics for prayer and then allow others to pray on this subject, or the group may pray in unison. Those who will join are being encouraged to join a few minutes early so that everyone will be on the line at the planned starting time.

Food and Pantry Ministry

The Food and Pantry Ministry continues to distribute food boxes on a monthly basis. Please give names to Sisters Harriett Clayton, Gloria Bell, Renee Copeland, Gladys Green, Dorothy Hines, Deacons Sterling Bell, Tim Simmons and Paul Davis, Sr., and Brother Otis Powell.

The Ministry has established the following operational guidelines:

1. Notification of distribution will be given via Facebook, email and text messages

concerning the date and time the boxes will be distributed.

2. A minimum of 25 boxes will be distributed each month. Our

membership with Second Harvest has been approved. We are now a partner. We

will now be able to distribute additional boxes as the needed.

3. A box has been placed in the foyer for donation of food items. The

following items are needed for the Pantry:

Flour, salt, sugar, pepper, grits, rice, oatmeal, spaghetti, corn meal,

eggs, Jiffy mix, tomato paste, ketchup, tomato sauce, mustard,

mayonnaise, macaroni and cheese, brownie mix, cake mix and

saltines. Any other items or funds to make food purchases that you would like to donate are

appreciated.
